Guess what!? It's Screenshot Saturday so I'm going to post something later tonight. Working on some assets. I'm not very good at texturing so I'm trying to find an interesting style that isn't just flat colored.

Here's some new stuff. I'm not so sure about it though. Do you like the coloring? Does it need textures? Is it less interesting than the circular platforms? :)

Personally, I prefer circular platforms. There's something more otherworldly about them, at least in the screen you posted. I'm not sure exactly what they are, they seem both alien and familiar.

The floating islands just read as floating islands, and for me they lose that sense of mystery. The colors aren't particularly offensive (the green is maybe a touch out of place), but they feel too familiar, too easy.

That looks lovely Ed! I can't say that precisely was what inspired it but I did try to make it looks sort of like a plant.

Ian I know exactly what you mean and that's why I had my doubts. I've decided to keep the islands for now and I'm trying to shove as much interesting stuff as possible ON TOP of them instead. I've also toned down the clouds, meaning I've tinted them towards the background color to make them less noticable.
