Catapult for Hire

Postby Loud » Fri Aug 17, 2012 5:07 pm

Hi Friends!

I think it's high time I post my project here. It's called Catapult for Hire and she's my first.

Initially I simply wanted to make a catapult game but eventually the challenge of seeing how much variety I could mine from a single concept (throwing) became my goal.

There is a campaign in which you are a freelance catapultist trying to make ends meet in a collapsed medieval economy. The story is about how messed up life can be and how we cope.

(Sorry about the image sizes, I don't have a quick way to resize them right now...)

I hope to stick around and keep being inspired by you all. Cheers!

I really need to put up some new video because it's looking much different than the last gameplay video I put up.

Hey Loud! I've seen your game around a few places (I honestly don't remember where I first heard of it). I absolutely love the art style. It's good to see you show up on these forums!

Bull. There's no way this is your first game. This looks excellent and makes me nostalgia hard for the PS1 era gigantic UI's and simplistic landscapes. The giant worm thing really sold it to me.
Gameplay and puzzle design is going to make or break this game though. Best of luck to you!

Actually now that you make me think about it this is technically my third game. I made a horrible Megaman-like called Stickaman in flash forever ago. I had no clue what I was doing. It was all frame-based using onEnterFrame if I recall.

Then I made a game when I was just getting started in Unity called "Reap" for the Gamma showcase. It at least was a full game so I guess that counts? So... second game! First "real" game?
