COPY / PASTE Pageant - Cut and Waste! [Uncooked]

Postby SavageDuck » Tue Jun 05, 2012 4:19 am

Hi everyone. My first time at this, so be as rough as possible, it will make all my feedback in the future seem really gentle!

I've decided to take the theme literally. As such my design is a *very* simple puzzler where as the user must solve a 8 x 6 tile puzzle by cutting a set number of tiles and pasting it (or them) into the empty spot(s). Doing so will complete the system and allow the waste to flow.... (sorry :P)

Complete tile set here : http://i.imgur.com/2FXHQ.png
Example puzzle here: http://i.imgur.com/m8XZB.png

As you can see in this mock-up, there is only one possible tile the user can copy and use. Hopefully I can get these puzzles automatically generated with some simple input such as number of missing tiles. As I am knee deep in Cocos2D at the moment, it is likely to be pad friendly.

That is if I can actually build it! I really should be working on my shmup...

Brendan.

Interesting! That looks pretty hard, but seems like a very solid idea :)

Unfortunately I made little progress on this, other than create a tile sheet and hack up a LIFO maze solving algorithm. So my first pageant attempt was a bust. Luckily I wasn't sitting around watching re-runs of Open All Hours, but was busily working on my main project :) So I don't feel too bad...

Congrats to those of you that got it done though, Nice work.
