Exponential Invasion

Postby Houndeye » Mon Aug 08, 2011 12:22 am

Hello! New here, the name's Houndeye. Or Danny. Whatever floats your boat. I am a senior in high school and i'm making a new iPhone game.

A pending title for the game is Exponential Invasion, and its a game based around the idea of one number being greater or less than another number. Like sudoku, the whole game takes place on a grid. When you tap a square, the squares surrounding the square will either turn green if they are less than the square you tapped or red if they are greater than the square you tapped. If you tap another number that is less than the first number, they will add together. Along with these numbers that you can move around, there will be preset numbers as well on the grid. You cannot move these, and you must "capture" them. To capture a preset number, you need to add a larger number to it. Doing so will cancel out both the preset number and the larger number that you added to it. It sounds somewhat confusing when I explain it in words, there will be tutorial levels.

Here is an early screenshot of the game in action, to help you get a better idea of how the game works.

Welcome! Don't fully grasp the idea from your description, but it sounds like the sort of thing that'd make sense if it made sense...

I'll get a video demo set up eventually.

I agree. It's hard to get an idea from the description, but as a fan of minesweeper, sudoku, and number puzzles in general, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this.
