Thanks everyone, this place continues to be a source of encouragement for me :)

Part of the reason for not uploading the most recent version is that I'm planning to either go the sponsorship route with this on FGL or release it as some kind of downloadable. As such, it's valuable to me to give the actual game content a certain amount of secrecy.

I meant you should link to the newest public demo in the first post.

You had a more primitive one, and then a newer build with nicer-looking graphics, including the snazzy background. I think it would be better to edit your first post to include the nicer-looking one (as in squish2.html instead of squish.html).

And best of luck with the sponsorship!

Ian this is really fabulous, I wish you the best of luck with it. Such a simple-feeling thing, genuinely new twist on platforming, what else is there to say :-) Sorry I didn't play it until tonight...

EDIT: I haven't read the other comments yet so I'm not sure what direction you are headed, but I really feel like slightly large-ish levels, and maybe a variation in jellyness (to accommodate larger levels) would be the icing on the cake. Sort of how Super Meat Boy's levels were structured, not long but not typical flash-platformer-level (1 screen) length, either. Well, I'm sure whatever you have in mind will be fantastic!

i love this! 100% would love to see a full game based on this concept :D (with maybe a little character/story in the mix)

I'm imagining level elements from early sonic games like big bouncy mushrooms and bright plants which are completely soft and bouncy.. I want to play that pretty bad!

edit: ooh just noticed the new graphics. +1 to updating the original post with newer images/stuff

Ok, ok, updated the first post a little.

I'm starting up a dev log here, if anyone's interested. Tonight I think I will spend my time making it look less like a tumblr blog...

Also, submitted to the IGF. Fingers crossed, but the competition looks way too stiff for someone like me to get in. Should be an awesome year for indie games!

Also, name change due to potential copyright problems.

@PsySal - Thanks, man! The game is basically going in that kind of direction already :)

Cool, cool, cool. It's because real life saw my innovative new visual style and decided to just rip me off!

Hey whatever happened to Cafe! Was it your game, peanutbuttershoes? Or are you just mourning it in the same way I am...

@Ian you should issue a cease and desist order to reality!! They work, they really really work!

Saw this on the IGF competition list. Good luck man! I've enjoyed the small demo prototype/demo/thing at the beginning of this several times.
